Human Tracheal Epithelial Cells (HTECs)

Description: The most abundant cell type in the bronchus is fibroblasts. They resemble a mesenchymal stem cell phenotype and their principle function is the production of type III collagen, elastin, and proteoglycans of the extracellular matrix. Bronchial fibroblasts play an important role in the repair and remodeling processes following injury. The controlled accumulation of fibroblasts to sites of inflammation is crucial for effective tissue repair after injury. Either inadequate or excessive accumulation of fibroblasts can result in abnormal tissue function. For example, the excess fibroblast proliferation and collagen secretion that occurs from bronchial subepithelial fibrosis can result in airway obstruction and bronchial hyper-responsiveness.
HBF are isolated from human bronchus tissue. HBF are cryopreserved at secondary culture (P1) and delivered frozen. Each vial contains >5 x 10^5 cells in 1 ml volume. HBF are characterized by immunofluorescent method with antibody to fibronectin. HBF are negative for HIV-1, HBV, HCV, mycoplasma, bacteria, yeast and fungi. HBF are guaranteed to further expand for 15 population doublings at the condition provided by Creative Bioarray.

Description: Special edition cells are isolated from the tissue types described. Cells are sterility and virus tested. All tissues used for cell isolation are obtained under informed consent. Creative Bioarray complies with the U.S. Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). Characterization standards for special edition cells have not been established.

Description: Creative Bioarray's normal Human Bronchial/Tracheal Epithelial Cells, when grown in Creative Bioarray's LIBro Medium, provide an ideal serum-free culture model for the accurate studies of toxicity, cystic fibrosis, asthma, pathogenesis, pharmacology or airway wound healing. Creative Bioarray's HBTEC are cultured without retinoic acid and cryopreserved as primary cells to ensure the highest viability and plating efficiency. Our HBTEC are quality tested in LIBro B/T Medium to ensure optimal growth over a period of at least 15 population doublings at rates equal to or greater than other commercially available media.

HBTEC are cryopreserved as primary cells. Cells are isolated from human bronchi/trachea and expanded once in culture vessels before being harvested for cryopreservation.
HSAEC are cryopreserved after primary cells are isolated from human lung tissue and expanded once in culture vessels before being harvested for cryopreservation.

Description: Human Primary Tracheal Fibroblasts are isolated from normal human tracheal tissue. Human Primary Tracheal Fibroblasts are grown in T75 tissue culture flasks pre-coated with gelatin-based coating solution for 2 min and incubated in Creative Bioarray’ Culture Complete Growth Medium generally for 3-7 days. Cultures are then expanded. Prior to shipping, cells at passage 1 are detached from flasks and immediately cryo-preserved in vials. Each vial contains at least 0.5x10^6 cells per ml.
