Never can cryopreserved cells be kept at -20 °C.
We do not recommend isolating cells from frozen media prior to plate laying. Centrifugation may be detrimental to the cells, especially if inappropriately high speeds are used. Experience in our cell culture labs has proven that if the DMSO concentration is low enough, the cells are not adversely affected. Therefore, our product descriptions include detailed experimental protocols for diluting cells into media such that the final DMSO concentration is less than 0.4% (v/v) at the recommended media inoculum density and volume.
