GFP Expressing Bovine Aortic Endothelial Cells (GFP-BAoECs)

Description: Primary Bovine Aortic Endothelial Cells are isolates from aorta tissue from bovine. Prior to shipping, cells at passage 2 are detached from flasks and immediately cryopreserved in vials. Each vial contains at least 0.5×10^6 cells per ml.

Description: The BCHON cultures are on the base of bovine tissues. The BCHON are isolated according to known procedures. Then primary cultures are produced. After further culturing, the BCHON are frozen in a computer controlled freezing unit following strict protocol. Proliferating cells are dispatched three days after the cryopreserved cells have been thawed out and cultured.

Description: Glutaraldehyde stabilized red blood cells are produced from freshly washed bovine RBCs by brief exposure to a glutaraldehyde-buffer solution and exhaustive washing in saline. This treatment largely preserves the native antigenicity of the erythrocytes while rendering the cells generally resistant to lysis by ostmotic shock, freeze-thawing or immune hemolysis. This reagent can be used directly in hemagglutination procedures, or may be coupled with various proteins for hemagglutination testing.

Description: The Bovine Brain Microvascular Endothelial Cell System is a model of the Blood Brain Barrier. The system is designed to significantly improve a researcher's ability to study active and passive transport of drugs across the blood brain barrier, to study brain endothelial cell tight junctions, and to study the basic biology of brain microvascular endothelial cells.

The Bovine Brain Microvascular Endothelial Cell System consists of cryopreserved primary bovine brain microvascular endothelial cells from a pool of multiple donor brains, and basal medium for growth into confluent monolayers. The endothelial cells express cellular tight junctions (positive for the proteins ZO-1 and Claudin-1), and transport characteristics (P-Glycoprotein function) found in the blood brain barrier. Thus the system can be used in early stage ADME-Tox screening assays to demonstrate whether test compounds are likely to cross the blood brain barrier.

It is often used as a model to study various bovine respiratory viruses including bovine parainfluenza virus, bovine viral diarrhea virus, and bovine herpesvirus 1 that greatly affect bovine health and related industry. T25 flasks is required for cell adhension to the culture vessels. Grow cells in ECM-coated culture vessels with 5% CO2. Each vial contains at least 1x10^6 cells per ml.
