Human Internal Thoracic Artery Smooth Muscle Cells are isolated from normal human thoracic artery. The cells are cryopreserved at passage 2 and delivered frozen. T25 flasks is required for cell adhension to the culture vessels. Grow cells in ECM-coated culture vessels with 5% CO2. Each vial contains at least 1x10^6 cells per ml.

Why is EDTA added to use trypsin?

EDTA is used to chelate free magnesium and calcium ions in order to maintain inhibition of trypsin activity. It is recommended that cells be washed with EDTA prior to trypsin treatment to eliminate all divalent ions from the medium.
