There are no fixed culture conditions for culturing a particular cell type. Cells cultured in MEM are likely to grow just as readily in DMEM or M199. In conclusion, MEM is preferred for adherent cell culture, RPMI-1640 for suspension cell culture, and AIM V medium (SFM) is preferred for serum-free culture for various purposes.
