Common causes may include: incorrect use or poor quality of media, incorrect use or poor quality of serum, incorrect thawing process, frozen cells thawed, washed and centrifuged, suspended cells mistaken for dead cells, incorrect use of incubation temperature, insufficient gas concentration in the incubator, and cells left at -80℃ for too long.
