Description
The abdominal aorta is the largest artery in the abdominal cavity. As part of the aorta, it is a direct continuation of the descending aorta. Smooth muscle cells (SMCs) are primary contributors to the development of arterial disease. SMCs express calcium channels, ICAM-1 and VCAM-1, which may be the cause of vascular wall inflammation and further vascular diseases.
Rat Abdominal Aortic Smooth Muscle Cells (rAASMCs) from Creative Bioarray are isolated from the rat abdominal aorta tissue. The method we use to isolate renal collecting duct epthelial cells was developed based on a combination of established and our proprietary methods. The rAASMCs are characterized by immunofluorescence with antibodies specific to α-SMA. Each vial contains 0.5x10^6 cells per ml and is delivered frozen.
