Description
Podocytes are cells in Bowman's capsule in the kidneys that wrap around capillaries of the glomerulus. They play an important role in preventing plasma proteins from entering the urinary ultrafiltrate by providing a barrier comprising filtration slits between foot processes, which in aggregate represent a dynamic network of cellular extensions.
Rabbit renal podocytes from Creative Bioarray are isolated from the rabbit renal tissue. The method we use to isolate rabbit renal podocytes was developed based on a combination of established and our proprietary methods. The rabbit renal podocytes are characterized by immunofluorescence with antibodies specific to pan-cytokeratin (PCK) or Wilm's tumor protein (WT-1). Each vial contains 0.5x10^6 cells per ml and is delivered frozen.
