Description
The carotid arteries are major blood vessels in the neck that supply blood to the brain, neck, and face. There are two carotid arteries, one on the right and one on the left. In the neck, each carotid artery branches into the internal carotid artery supplies blood to the brain and the external carotid artery supplies blood to the face and neck. A major factor in the development of vascular disease is the transformation of vascular smooth muscle cells into a reproductive phenotype.
Rabbit carotid artery smooth muscle cells from Creative Bioarray are isolated from the rabbit carotid artery tissue. The method we use to isolate rabbit carotid artery smooth muscle cells was developed based on a combination of established and our proprietary methods. The rabbit carotid artery smooth muscle cells are characterized by immunofluorescence with antibodies specific to α-SMA. Each vial contains 0.5x10^6 cells per ml and is delivered frozen.
