ActoFactor™ Recombinant Rat Chemokine (C-C motif) ligand 11
- Specification
Cat.No.
CSC-CTK0852
Description
Chemokine (C-C motif) ligand 11 (CCL11) is a small cytokine belonging to the CC chemokine family that is also known as Eotaxin. CCL11 selectively recruits eosinophils by inducing their chemotaxis, and therefore, is implicated in allergic responses. The effects of CCL11 are mediated by its binding to a G-protein-linked receptor known as a chemokine receptor. Chemokine receptors for which CCL11 is a ligand include CCR2, CCR3 and CCR5. The gene for human CCL11 (scya11) is encoded on three exons and is located on chromosome 17. Recombinant rat Eotaxin produced in E. coli is a single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain of 74 amino acids and a molecular mass of 8,4 kDa Dalton. It has been purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.

Product Overview
Rat Ccl11 expressed in E.coli
Molecular Mass
8.4 kDa
Size
CAT# CSC-CTK0852-20 (20 μg); CAT# CSC-CTK0852-100 (100 μg)
Expression System
E.coli
Purity
Greater than 97% as determined by SDS-PAGE and RP-HPLC analysis.
Activity
Fully biologically active. Biological activity was determined by its ability to chemoattract purified blood eosinophils using a concentration range of 0.1-1.0 ug/ml, corresponding to a specific activity of 10-100 IU/mg.
Endotoxin Level
Less than 1 EU/μg.
Formulation
White (freeze-dried) powder. Lyophilized from a sterile-filtered (0.2 μm) concentrated (1 mg/ml) protein solution in 1×PBS (pH 7.4).
Reconstitution
Please centrifuge product briefly before opening vial. The lyophilized protein should be reconstituted in sterile, ultra-pure water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/ml. This solution can then be diluted into other aqueous buffers and stored at -20°C for future use.
Storage & Stability
The lyophilized protein, though stable at room temperature for up to 3 weeks, is best stored desiccated at -20°C. Reconstituted rRa Eotaxin should be used immediately or stored long-term in undiluted working aliquots at -20°C. For long-term storage, it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA). Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
