CSC-I9038L
Description
Immortalized Human Umbilical Vein Endothelial Cells-SV40 from Creative Bioarray were developed from human tissue transduced with a lentiviral expression vector containing the SV40 gene. The cell line was continuously cultured for more than 20 passages without showing signs of growth retardation or replicative senescence whereas the parental cells senesced after having reached 4 passages. Immortalized Human Umbilical Vein Endothelial Cells-SV40 (Cat No.: CSC-I9038L) respond to VEGF treatment and form neoangiogenic webs on Matrigel. This cell line is characterized by the homogenous expression of cell-type specific markers such as vWF.

What are Immortalized Human Umbilical Vein Endothelial Cells (SV40)?

These are endothelial cells derived from the human umbilical vein that have been immortalized using the SV40 large T antigen, allowing for culturing at least 20 passages. They provide a consistent model for endothelial cell research.

What research applications are Immortalized Human Umbilical Vein Endothelial Cells-SV40 suitable for?

Immortalized Human Umbilical Vein Endothelial Cells-SV40 (Cat No.: CSC-I9038L) are ideal for studying vascular biology, angiogenesis, endothelial cell function, inflammation, and shear stress responses. They are also useful for drug testing and endothelial-related disease models.

Can these cells be used for angiogenesis studies?

Yes, these cells are particularly useful for angiogenesis research. They retain critical properties of endothelial cells, such as the ability to form capillary-like structures in vitro, making them an excellent model for studying blood vessel formation and function.

How do these cells compare to primary human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs)?

While primary HUVECs have a limited lifespan and batch-to-batch variability, the immortalized version -Immortalized Human Umbilical Vein Endothelial Cells-SV40 (Cat No.: CSC-I9038L) provides a stable, reproducible, and long-lasting model, ensuring consistent results over multiple experiments and extended studies.
