Description
Primary oral epithelial cells were derived from patients undergoing removal of impacted teeth and were immortalized with the retroviral transfection of the pLXSN-hTERT vector to establish the Immortalized Human Oral Mucosal Epithelial Cells (hTERT-OME). The cells are also considered to be oral keratinocytes and have maintained their stem cell properties. hTERT-OME cells are a valuable tool for research in the biology of oral epithelial cells.
