Description
Originally described to be derived from the moderately differentiated adenocarcinoma of the head of the pancreas from a 74-year-old African-American man in 1996; patient was treated with pancreato-duodenectomy; cells were described as being tumorigenic in SCID mice; however, DNA fingerprinting and cytogenetic analysis showed cross-contamination with cell line HPAC which was established in 1985 from the pancreas adenocarcinoma of a 64-year-old Caucasian woman

Are there any specific culture conditions required for adherent cells?

Adherent cells often require a solid surface or substrate for attachment, which is typically a tissue culture-treated plastic surface. They also require a suitable culture medium that provides the necessary nutrients, growth factors, and hormones for cell growth and proliferation.
