ActoFactor™ Recombinant Rat Interleukin 3
- Specification
Cat.No.
CSC-CTK0816
Description
Interleukin-3 (IL-3) is a cytokine produced by activated T-cells and mast cells that is active on a broad range of hematopoietic cells and in the nervous system and appears to be important in several chronic inflammatory diseases. It is a species-specific colony stimulating factor, which stimulates colony formation of megakaryocytes, neutrophils, and macrophages from bone marrow cultures. Recombinant rat IL-3 produced in E. coli is a single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 140 amino acids and having a molecular mass of 15,783 Dalton. It has been purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.
Species
Rat
Product Overview
Rat Il3 expressed in E.coli
Molecular Mass
16 kDa
Size
CAT# CSC-CTK0816-20 (20 μg); CAT# CSC-CTK0816-100 (100 μg)
Expression System
E.coli
Purity
Greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE and RP-HPLC analysis.
Activity
Recombinant rat IL-3 is fully biologically active when compared to a standard. The ED50 as determined by the dose-dependant proliferation of murine NFS-60 cells is 3-10 ng/ml, corresponding to a specific activity of ≤3.3 x 10^5 IU/mg.
Endotoxin Level
Less than 1 EU/μg.
Formulation
Sterile-filtered white, lyophilized (freeze-drie d) powder. Lyophilized from a concentrated (1 mg/ml) protein solution with no additives.
Reconstitution
Please centrifuge product briefly before opening vial. The lyophilized protein should be reconstituted in sterile, ultra-pure water to a concentration of 0.1 - 1.0 mg/ml. This solution can then be diluted into other aqueous buffers and stored at -20°C for future use.
Storage & Stability
The lyophilized protein, though stable at room temperature for up to 3 weeks, is best stored desiccated at -20°C. Reconstituted rRa IL-3 should be used immediately or stored long-term in undiluted working aliquots at -20°C. For long-term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA). Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
