ActoFactor™ Recombinant Rat Interleukin 1 beta
- Specification
Cat.No.
CSC-CTK0814
Description
Recombinant Rat Interleukin-1beta (rRa IL-1 beta) is a potent immuno-modulator, which mediates a wide range of immune and inflammatory responses including the activation of B and T cells. Rat IL-1 beta is a 17.3 kDa protein containing 153 amino acid residues.
Species
Rat
Product Overview
Rat Il1b expressed in E.coli
Molecular Mass
17.3 kDa
Size
CAT# CSC-CTK0814-10 (10 μg); CAT# CSC-CTK0814-50 (50 μg)
Expression System
E.coli
Purity
Greater than 97% as determined by SDS-PAGE and HPLC analysis.
Activity
The ED50 of Creative Bioarray's rat IL-1 beta as determined by the dose-dependent stimulation of murine D10S cells is less than 0.1 ng/ml corresponding to a specific activity of Greater than 1 x 10^7 units/mg.
Endotoxin Level
Less than 1 EU/μg.
Formulation
Lyophilized from a sterile-filtered protein solution in PBS (pH 7.4) with no additives.
Reconstitution
Please centrifuge product briefly before opening vial. The lyophilized protein should be reconstituted in sterile, ultrapure water to a concentration of 0.1 - 1.0 mg/ml. This solution can then be diluted into other aqueous buffers and stored at -20°C for future use.
Storage & Stability
The lyophilized IL-1 beta, though stable at room temperature for up to 3 weeks, is best stored desiccated below 0°C. Reconstituted rRa IL-1 beta should be used immediately or stored long- term in undiluted working aliquots at -20°C. For long-term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA). Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
