ActoFactor™ Recombinant Mouse Oncostatin M

  • Specification
Cat.No.
CSC-CTK0015
Description
Oncostatin M (OSM) is a pleiotropic cytokine produced by activated T cells, monocytes, and Kaposi's sarcoma cells. OSM inhibits the growth of some tumour and normal cell lines, simulates fibroblast, smooth muscle and Kaposi's sarcoma cell proliferation, cytokine release from endothelial cells and low density lipoprotein receptor expression on hepatoma cells. Mouse OSM was recently cloned and identified as an immediate early gene induced in various myeloid and lymphoid cell lines by a subset of cytokines including IL-2, IL-3, GM-CSF and EPO. Mouse OSM cDNA encodes a 263 amino acid pre-pro-OSM polypeptide with a 25 residue signal peptide and a hydrophilic C-terminal domain that are proteolytically processed to generate the mature OSM protein. Mouse OSM binds to OSM-R a-chain and gp130 subunit.
Species
Mouse
Product Overview
Mouse Osm expressed in E.coli
Sequence
A DNA sequence encoding the mature, C-terminal truncated form of mouse OSM, corresponding to amino acid residues 26 - 207 , was expressed in E. coli.
Size
CAT# CSC-CTK0015-25 (25 μg); CAT# CSC-CTK0015-125 (125 μg)
Expression System
E.coli
Purity
Greater than 97% as determined by SDS-PAGE and visualized by silver stain
Activity
Biological activity was measured as the ability to stimulate H-thymidine incorporation in quiescent NIH/3T3 cells. The ED50 for this effect was typically 2 - 4 ng/mL.
Endotoxin Level
Endotoxin level is less than 0.1 ng per μg of the cytokine as determined by the LAL method.
Formulation
Lyophilized from a sterile filtered solution in PBS, containing 50 μg of bovine serum albumin per 1 μg of cytokine.
Reconstitution
It is recommended that sterile PBS containing at least 0.1% human serum albumin or bovine serum albumin be added to the vial to prepare a stock solution of no less than 25 μg/mL.
Storage & Stability
Lyophilized samples are stable for greater than six months at -20°C to -70°C. Upon reconstitution, mouse OSM can be stored under sterile conditions at 2°- 4°C for one month or at -20°Cto -70°C for three months without detectable loss of activity. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles
