ActoFactor™ Recombinant Mouse Kit ligand

  • Specification
Cat.No.
CSC-CTK0710
Description
Mouse SCF (Stem cell factor, steel factor, Kit ligand, C-kit-ligand) is a hematopoietic growth factor that stimulates the proliferation of bone marrow stem cells. SCF induces the proliferation of mast cells and primitive lymphoid and myeloid hematopoietic bone marrow progenitor cells in culture. SCF acts synergistically with both GM-CSF and G-CSF, IL-7 and EPO. Mouse SCF is active on human cells as well as murine cells and can be used for long term bone marrow culture. Recombinant mouse SCF produced in plant contains 166 amino acids and a 16 a.a. histidine- based tag for a total length of 182 a.a., and has a predicted molecular mass of 20.6 kDa. As a result of glycosylation, the recombinant protein migrates as three bands with an apparent molecular mass of 24, 23, 21 kDa in SDS-PAGE.
Species
Mouse
Product Overview
Mouse Kitl expressed in Endosperm tissue of barley grain (Hordeum vulgare)
Molecular Mass
20.6 kDa
Size
CAT# CSC-CTK0710-10 (10 μg); CAT# CSC-CTK0710-50 (50 μg)
Expression System
Endosperm tissue of barley grain (Hordeum vulgare)
Purity
Greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE analysis.
Activity
Bioactivity is assayed by measuring the dose-dependent effect of mouse SCF on proliferation of the factor-dependent human erythroleukemic cell line TF-1. The ED50 for this recombinant mouse SCF was determined to be 44 ng/ml, corresponding to a specific activity of 0.2 x 10^5 units/mg. The optimal concentration should be determined for specific applications and cell lines.
Endotoxin Level
Less than 0.05 EU/μg.
Formulation
Sterile filtered through a 0.2 μm filter. Lyophilized from PBS (pH 7.2).
Reconstitution
Please centrifuge the vial before opening. It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized protein in sterile water to a concentration of no less than 100 μg/ml. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA).
Storage & Stability
The lyophilized protein, though stable at room temperature for up to 3 weeks, is best stored desiccated at -20°C. Reconstituted protein should be used immediately or stored long-term in undiluted working aliquots at -20°C. For long-term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA). Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
