ActoFactor™ Recombinant Mouse Interleukin 9
- Specification
Cat.No.
CSC-CTK0687
Description
Interleukin (IL)-9 is known to regulate many cell types involved in T-helper type 2 responses classically associated with asthma, including B- and T-lymphocytes, mast cells, eosinophils and epithelial cells. Growing evidence obtained from human genomic analysis and antigen-challenged transgenic mice suggests that interleukin-9 (IL-9) is a candidate factor in immunoglobulin E (IgE) production and thus is thought to be associated with bronchial inflammation and bronchial hyperresponsiveness (BHR). Recombinant mouse IL-9 produced in E. coli is a single, non- glycosylated polypeptide chain of 127amino acids and a molecular mass of 14,166 Dalton.
Species
Mouse
Product Overview
Mouse Il9 expressed in E.coli
Molecular Mass
14.2 kDa
Size
CAT# CSC-CTK0687-10 (10 μg); CAT# CSC-CTK0687-50 (50 μg)
Expression System
E.coli
Purity
Greater than 98% as determined by SDS-PAGE, FPLC and RP-HPLC analysis.
Activity
Recombinant murine IL-9 is fully biologically active when compared to a standard. The ED50, as determined by the dose-dependant stimulation of human MO7e cells, is < 0.5 ng/ml corresponding to a specific activity of 2 x 10^6 IU/mg.
Endotoxin Level
Less than 1 EU/μg.
Formulation
Sterile-filtered, white, lyophilized (freeze-dried) powder. Lyophilized from a concentrated (1 mg/ml) solution containing no additives.
Reconstitution
Please centrifuge product briefly before opening vial. The lyophilized protein should be reconstituted in sterile, ultra-pure water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/ml. This solution can then be diluted into other aqueous buffers and stored at -20°C for future use.
Storage & Stability
The lyophilized protein, though stable at room temperature for up to 3 weeks, is best stored desiccated at -20°C. Reconstituted rMu IL-9 should be used immediately or stored long-term in undiluted working aliquots at -20°C. For long term storage, it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA). Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
