ActoFactor™ Recombinant Mouse Interleukin 6
- Specification
Cat.No.
CSC-CTK0685
Description
Recombinant Murine Interleukin-6 (rMu IL-6) is a potent lymphoid cell growth factor that stimulates the growth and survivability of certain B cells and T cells. Recombinant Murine IL-6 is a single, non-glycosylated 21.709 Dalton polypeptide containing 187 amino acid residues.
Species
Mouse
Product Overview
Mouse Il6 expressed in E.coli
Molecular Mass
21.7 kDa
Size
CAT# CSC-CTK0685-10 (10 μg); CAT# CSC-CTK0685-50 (50 μg)
Expression System
E.coli
Purity
Greater than 97% as determined by SDS-PAGE and HPLC analysis.
Activity
The ED50 as determined by the dose-dependent stimulation of the proliferation of murine IL-6 dependent murine 7TD1 cells is ≤ 0.02 ng/ml, corresponding to a specific activity of Greater than 5 x 10^7 units/mg.
Endotoxin Level
Less than 1 EU/μg.
Formulation
Lyophilized from a sterile-filtered, concentrated p rotein solution (1 mg/ml) containing 10 mM NaAcetate (pH 6.0).
Reconstitution
Please centrifuge product briefly before opening vial. rMu IL-6 should be reconstituted in sterile 20 mM HCl to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/ml. This solution can then be diluted into water or other aqueous buffers and stored at -20°C for future use.
Storage & Stability
The lyophilized powder, though stable at room temperature for up to 3 weeks, is best stored at - 20°C. Reconstituted rMu IL-6 should be stored long-term in undiluted working aliquots at -20°C. For long-term storage, it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA). Avoid repeated freeze / thaw cycles.
