ActoFactor™ Recombinant Mouse Hepatocyte growth factor
- Specification
Cat.No.
CSC-CTK0729
Description
Hepatocyte Growth Factor (rMu HGF) is also known as Scatter Factor and Hepatopoeitin A. HGF is a potent mitogen for mature parenchymal hepatocyte cells and acts as a growth factor for a broad spectrum of tissues and cell types. Activities of HGF include induction of cell proliferation, motility, morphogenesis, inhibition of cell growth, and enhancement of neuron survival. HGF is a crucial mitogen for liver regeneration processes, especially after partial hepatectomy and other liver injuries. Human and murine HGF are cross-reactive. Murine HGF is expressed as a linear 728 amino acid polypeptide precursor glycoprotein. Proteolytic processing of this precursor generates the biologically active form of HGF, which consists of two polypeptide chains (alpha- chain and beta-chain) held by a single disulfide bond resulting in formation of a biologically active heterodimer. The alpha-chain consists of 463 amino acid residues and four kringle domains. The beta-chain consists of 233 amino acid residues.

Product Overview
Mouse Hgf expressed in Hi-5 Insect Cells
Molecular Mass
N/A
Size
CAT# CSC-CTK0729-20 (20 μg); CAT# CSC-CTK0729-100 (100 μg)
Expression System
Hi-5 Insect Cells
Purity
Greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE and RP-HPLC analysis.
Activity
Recombinant human HGF is fully biologically active when compared to standards. Determined by the dose-dependent stimulation of the proliferation of mouse IMCD3 cells using a concentration range of 10-20 ng/ml.
Endotoxin Level
Less than 1 EU/μg.
Formulation
Sterile-filtered through a 0.2 micron filter and ly ophilized from 10 mM Tris (pH 7.2), 100 mM L- Arginine, 200 mM NaCl.
Reconstitution
Please centrifuge product briefly before opening the vial. The lyophilized recombinant human HGF should be reconstituted in sterile, ultra-pure water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/ml. This solution can then be diluted into other aqueous buffers and stored at - 20°C for future use.
Storage & Stability
The lyophilized powder, though stable at room temperature for up to 3 weeks, is best stored desiccated at -20°C. Reconstituted rMu HGF should be stored long-term in undiluted working aliquots at -20°C. For long-term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA). Avoid repeated freeze / thaw cycles.
