ActoFactor™ Recombinant Human soluble Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor Receptor 2 (sKDR, native; Insect cell)
- Specification
Cat.No.
CSC-CTK0411
Description
Endothelial cells express three different vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) receptors, belonging to the family of receptor tyrosine kinases (RTKs). They are named VEGFR -1 (Flt-1), VEGFR -2 (KDR/Flk-1), VEGFR -3 (Flt-4). Their expression is almost exclusively restricted to endothelial cells, but VEGFR -1 can also be found on monocytes. All VEGF-receptors have seven immunoglobulin-like extracellular domains, a single transmembrane region and an intracellular split tyrosine kinase domain. VEGFR -2 has a lower affinity for VEGF than the Flt -1 receptor, but a higher signaling activity. Mitogenic activity in endothelial cells is mainly mediated by VEGFR -2 leading to their proliferation. The binding of VEGF165 to VEGFR-2 is dependent on heparin. Recombinant Human soluble Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor Receptor 2 (sKDR) generated by alternative splicing consist of the first 6 Ig-like loops followed by the unique C-terminal end: CGRETILDHSAEAVGMP. It contains 659 amino acids and has a molecular weight of 105 kDa (monomer).

Product Overview
Human KDR expressed in Insect cells
Molecular Mass
105 kDa
Size
CAT# CSC-CTK0411-5 (5 μg); CAT# CSC-CTK0411-25 (25 μg)
Expression System
Insect cells
Purity
Greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE analysis.
Activity
Measured by its ability to bind to immobilized recombinant human VEGF-165 in a functional ELISA.
Endotoxin Level
Less than 1 EU/μg.
Formulation
Lyophilized from a sterile-filtered protein solution in 25 mM MES, 100 mM NaCl (pH 5.5).
Reconstitution
Please centrifuge product briefly before opening vial. The lyophilized protein should be reconstituted in sterile, ultra-pure water or PBS to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/ml. This solution can then be diluted into other aqueous buffers and stored at -20°C for future use.
Storage & Stability
The lyophilized protein, though stable at room temperature for up to 3 weeks, is best stored desiccated at -20°C. Reconstituted protein should be used immediately or stored long-term in undiluted working aliquots at -20°C. For long-term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA). Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
