Description
WIF-1 binds to WNT proteins and inhibits their activities. It plays a role in mesoderm segmentation. WNT proteins are extracellular signaling molecules that take part in the control of embryonic development & cancer. WIF-1 protein contains a WNT inhibitory factor (WIF) domain and 5 epidermal growth factor (EGF)-like domains. WIF-1 takes part in mesoderm segmentation and is found to be present in fish, amphibia and mammals. WIF-1 is a recurrent target in human salivary gland oncogenesis. Downregulation of WIF1 takes part in the development and progression of pleomorphic adenomas. WIF-1 is a tumor suppressor, specifically in non- functioning pituitary tumors. WIF-1 produced in Hi-5 cells is a single, glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 369 amino acids (29-379 a.a.) and having a molecular mass of 40.5 kDa, (48kDa on SDS-PAGE). It is fused to a 16 amino acid His-tag at the C-terminus.

Reconstitution
Please centrifuge product briefly before opening vial. The dissolved protein can be diluted into other aqueous buffers and stored at -20°C for future use.
Storage & Stability
Store at 4°C if entire vial will be used within 4 weeks. Store frozen at -20°C for longer periods of time. For long term storage, it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA). Avoid multiple freeze-thaw cycles.
