ActoFactor™ Recombinant Human Vascular cell adhesion molecule 1 (HEK)

  • Specification
Cat.No.
CSC-CTK0117
Description
VCAM-1 is a member of the Ig superfamily. It is a cell surface sialoglycoprotein expressed by cytokine activated endothelium. VCAM-1 contains 6 or 7 immunoglobulin domains, and is expressed on both large and small vessels only after the endothelial cells are stimulated by cytokines. The protein has a number of functions including the regulation of leukocyte migration, leukocyte endothelial cell adhesion and signal transduction and may play a role in a number of inflammatory diseases (artherosclerosis and rheumatoid arthritis). Recombinant human VCAM-1 is a 74 kDa glycoprotein comprising the extracellular domain (673 amino acid residues) of VCAM-1. Monomeric glycosylated VCAM-1 migrates at an apparent molecular weight of approximately 74.1 kDa by SDS-PAGE analysis under reducing conditions.
Species

Product Overview
Human VCAM1 expressed in HEK293 cells
Molecular Mass
N/A
Size
CAT# CSC-CTK0117-50 (50 μg); CAT# CSC-CTK0117-250 (250 μg)
Expression System
HEK293 cells
Purity
Greater than 98% as determined by HPLC and SDS-PAGE analysis.
Activity
Determined by its ability to support the adhesion of human U937 cells. The expected ED50 for this effect is 0.8-1.0 μg/ml.
Endotoxin Level
Less than 1 EU/μg.
Formulation
Sterile-filtered through a 0.2 micron filter and lyophilized from 10 mM sodium phosphate buffer (pH 7.0).
Reconstitution
Please centrifuge product briefly before opening vial. The lyophilized protein should be reconstituted in sterile, ultra-pure water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/ml. This solution can then be diluted into other aqueous buffers and stored at -20°C for future use.
Storage & Stability
The lyophilized protein, though stable at room temperature for up to 3 weeks, is best stored desiccated at -20°C. Reconstituted protein should be used immediately or stored long-term in undiluted working aliquots at -20°C. For long-term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA). Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
