ActoFactor™ Recombinant Human Placenta Growth Factor 1 (E. coli)
- Specification
Cat.No.
CSC-CTK0474
Description
Placenta growth factor (PLGF), a homodimeric glycoprotein that is homologous to vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), is mitogenic to endothelial cells and protects trophoblast from apoptosis. Alternative splicing of mature mRNA gives rise to three known isoforms of PlGF. PlGF is expressed by human trophoblast during normal pregnancy, however, it is not known which isoforms are produced. Recombinant human PlGF-1 produced in E. coli is a 29.7 kDa disulfide- linked homodimeric protein of two 131 amino acid polypeptide chains.
Species
Human
Product Overview
Human PGF expressed in E.coli
Molecular Mass
29.7 kDa
Size
CAT# CSC-CTK0474-25 (25 μg); CAT# CSC-CTK0474-125 (125 μg)
Expression System
E.coli
Purity
Greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE and RP-HPLC analysis.
Activity
Recombinant human PLGF-1 is fully biologically active when compared to a standard. The ED50 has been determined by its ability to chemoattract human monocytes of using a concentration range of 1.0-10.0 ng/ml.
Endotoxin Level
Less than 1 EU/μg.
Formulation
Sterile-filtered and lyophilized from 10 mM Sodium Phosphate, pH 7.5.
Reconstitution
Please centrifuge product briefly before opening vial. The lyophilized protein should be reconstituted in sterile, ultra-pure water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/ml. This solution can then be diluted into other aqueous buffers and stored at -20°C for future use.
Storage & Stability
The lyophilized protein, though stable at room temperature for up to 3 weeks, is best stored desiccated at -20°C. Reconstituted rHu PLGF-1 should be used immediately or stored long-term in undiluted working aliquots at -20°C. For long-term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA). Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
