ActoFactor™ Recombinant Human Neurotrophin 3
- Specification
Cat.No.
CSC-CTK0487
Description
Recombinant Human Neurotrophin-3 (rHu NT-3) is a potent neurotrophic factor, which supports the growth and survival of nerve and glial cells. Human NT-3 produced in E. coli is a non- glycosylated and non-covalently linked homodimer containing 2 x 119 amino acids chains and having a molecular mass of 27.2 kDa. Recombinant human NT-3 has been purified using proprietary chromatographic techniques.
Species
Human
Product Overview
Human NTF3 expressed in E.coli
Molecular Mass
27.2 kDa
Size
CAT# CSC-CTK0487-10 (10 μg); CAT# CSC-CTK0487-50 (50 μg)
Expression System
E.coli
Purity
Greater than 98% as determined by SDS-PAGE and RP-HPLC.
Activity
The ED50 as determined by the dose-dependent induction of choline acetyl transferase activity in rat basal forebrain primary septal cultures was found between 20-50 ng/ml.
Endotoxin Level
Less than 1 EU/μg.
Formulation
The sterile-filtered protein solution in water (1 mg/ml) was lyophilized with no additives.
Reconstitution
Please centrifuge product briefly before opening the vial. The lyophilized powder should be reconstituted in sterile, ultra-pure water to a concentration of 0.1 - 1.0 mg/ml. This solution can then be diluted into other aqueous buffers and stored at -20°C for future use.
Storage & Stability
The lyophilized powder, though stable at room temperature for up to 3 weeks, is best stored desiccated at -20°C. Reconstituted rHu NT-3 should be used immediately or stored long-term in undiluted working aliquots at -20°C. Avoid repeated freeze / thaw cycles.
