Description
: IL-23 is a proinflammatory heterodimeric protein composed of two subunits, a unique p19 subunit and a p40 subunit, which is shared with IL-12. IL-23 is secreted by activated dendritic cells and macrophages, and signals though a receptor comprised of IL-23R complexed with IL- 12Rβ2. IL-23 has been shown to enhance proliferation of memory T cells. It also stimulates the production of IFN-γ in NK cells, induces IL-17 production, and drives Th17 mediated responses. Recombinant IL-23 is a 53.5 kDa heterodimeric protein consisting of two subunits, p19 (170 amino acids) and p40 (306 amino acids).

Reconstitution
Please centrifuge product briefly before opening vial. The lyophilized protein should be reconstituted in sterile, ultra-pure water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/ml. This solution can then be diluted into other aqueous buffers and stored at -20°C for future use.
Storage & Stability
The lyophilized protein, though stable at room temperature for up to 3 weeks, is best stored dessicated at -20°C. Reconstituted protein should be used immediately or stored long-term in undiluted working aliquots at –20°C. For long term storage, it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA). Avoid repeated freeze / thaw cycles.
