ActoFactor™ Recombinant Human Fibroblast growth factor 8 (androgen-induced) (E. coli)
- Specification
Cat.No.
CSC-CTK0145
Description
Recombinant Human Fibroblast Growth Factor-8 (rHu FGF-8), also known as Androgen-induced growth factor (AIGF), is a heparin binding growth factor, which stimulates the proliferation and activation of cells that express FGF receptors. Creative Bioarrays human FGF-8 is a 22.4 kDa protein containing 193 amino acid residues.
Species
Human
Product Overview
Human FGF8 expressed in E.coli
Molecular Mass
22.4 kDa
Size
CAT# CSC-CTK0145-25 (25 μg); CAT# CSC-CTK0145-125 (125 μg)
Expression System
E.coli
Purity
Greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE and HPLC analysis.
Activity
The ED50 as determined by the dose-dependent stimulation of thymidine uptake by BaF3 cells expressing FGF receptors is ≤ 0.5 ng/ml, corresponding to a specific activity of Greater than 2×10^6 units/mg.
Endotoxin Level
Less than 1 EU/μg.
Formulation
Lyopholized from 10mM Tris pH 8.0 + 75mM NaCl.
Reconstitution
Please centrifuge product before opening vial. The lyophilized FGF-8 should be reconstituted in 5mM Tris, pH 8.0 to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/ml. This solution can then be diluted into other aqueous buffers and stored at -20°C for future use.
Storage & Stability
The lyophilized protein, though stable at room temperature, is best stored dessicated at -20°C. Reconstituted rHu FGF-8 should be used immediately or stored in working aliquots at -20°C. Please avoid repeated freeze / thaw cycles.
