ActoFactor™ Recombinant Human Fibroblast growth factor 4 (HEK)

  • Specification
Cat.No.
CSC-CTK0142
Description
FGF-4 is a heparin binding growth factor that is a member of the FGF family. Proteins of this family play a central role during prenatal development and postnatal growth and regeneration of a variety of tissues, by promoting cellular proliferation and differentiation. FGF-4 signals through the FGFR 1c, 2c, 3c, and 4. Recombinant human FGF-4 produced in HEK cells is a glycosylated monomer, having a molecular weight range of 17-27 kDa due to glycosylation. It has been purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.
Species
Human
Product Overview
Human FGF4 expressed in HEK cells
Molecular Mass
N/A
Size
CAT# CSC-CTK0142-10 (10 μg); CAT# CSC-CTK0142-50 (50 μg)
Expression System
HEK cells
Purity
Greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE analysis.
Activity
rHu FGF-4 is fully biologically active when compared to a standard. The specific activity was determined by the dose-dependent stimulation of the proliferation of the Balb/3T3 cell line and is typically 0.25-1.25 ng/ml.
Endotoxin Level
Less than 1 EU/μg.
Formulation
Sterile-filtered, white, lyophilized (freeze-dried)powder. Lyophilized from a concentrated protein solution (1 mg/ml) in 1xPBS.
Reconstitution
Please centrifuge product briefly before opening vial. The lyophilized FGF-4 should be reconstituted in sterile, ultra-pure water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/ml. This solution can then be diluted into other aqueous buffers and stored at -20°C for future use.
Storage & Stability
The lyophilized protein, though stable at room temperature for up to 3 weeks, is best stored desiccated at -20°C. Reconstituted rHu FGF-4 should be used immediately or stored long-term in undiluted working aliquots at -20°C. For long term storage, it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA). Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.
