ActoFactor™ Recombinant Human Fibroblast Growth Factor 10 (KGF-2)
- Specification
Cat.No.
CSC-CTK0149
Description
FGF-10 is a heparin binding growth factor that belongs to the FGF family. Proteins of this family play a central role during prenatal development and postnatal growth and regeneration of a variety of tissues, by promoting cellular proliferation and differentiation. FGF-10 is most related to KGF/FGF-7 and is expressed during the development and preferentially in adult lungs. It signals through the FGFR 2b. Recombinant human FGF-10 is a 19.3 kDa protein consisting of 170 amino acid residues.
Species
Human
Product Overview
Human FGF10 expressed in E.coli
Molecular Mass
19.3 kDa
Size
CAT# CSC-CTK0149-25 (25 μg); CAT# CSC-CTK0149-125 (125 μg)
Expression System
E.coli
Purity
Greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE analysis.
Activity
The ED50, as determined by the dose-dependent stimulation of thymidine uptake by BaF3 cells expressing FGF-receptors, is 2 x 10^6 units/mg.
Endotoxin Level
Less than 1 EU/μg.
Formulation
Sterile, lyophilized (freeze-dried) powder. Lyophilzed from a solution in 5 mM Na-phosphate buffer (pH 7.4) + 80 mM NaCl.
Reconstitution
Please centrifuge product briefly before opening vial. The lyophilized FGF-10 should be reconstituted in sterile 5 mM Na-phosphate buffer (pH 7.4) to a concentration of 0.1- 1.0 mg/ml. This solution can then be diluted into water or other aqueous buffers and stored at - 20°C for future use.
Storage & Stability
The lyophilized protein, though stable at room temperature for up to 3 weeks, is best stored desiccated at -20°C. Reconstituted rHu FGF-10 should be used immediately or stored long-term in undiluted working aliquots at -20°C. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
