ActoFactor™ Recombinant Human Cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitor 2A

  • Specification
Cat.No.
CSC-CTK0384
Description
Cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitors (CDKIs) are proteins that bind to and inhibit the activity of CDKs. Two major classes of CDK inhibitors have been identified. The p16 family (p15, p16, p18 and p19) binds to and inhibits the activities of CDK4 and CDK6. The p21 family (p21, p27, p28 and p57) can bind to broad range of CDK-cyclin complexes and inhibit their activities. CDKIs are capable of suppressing growth, and several lines of evidence strongly suggest that at least some CDKIs may be tumor suppressor proteins. Recombinant human p16-INK4a produced in E. coli is a single non-glycosylated polypeptide chain of 156 amino acids and a molecular weight of approximately 16.5 kDa. It has been purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.

Less than 1 EU/μg.
Formulation
Lyophilized from a concentrated (1mg/ml) sterile protein solution in 1x PBS (pH 7.4).
Reconstitution
Please centrifuge product briefly before opening the vial. The lyophilized protein should be reconstituted in sterile, ultra-pure water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/ml. This solution can then be further diluted into other aqueous buffers and stored at -20°C for future use.
Storage & Stability
The lyophilized powder, though stable at room temperature for up to 3 weeks, is best stored desiccated at -20°C. Reconstituted protein should be used immediately or stored long-term in undiluted working aliquots at -20°C. For long-term storage, we recommend the addition of a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA). Avoid repeated freeze / thaw cycles.
