Recombinant Human Stromal Cell-Derived Factor-1 alpha (rHu SDF-1 alpha) is a recently discovered protein belonging to the alpha-chemokine (C-X-C) family of cytokines. Rhu SDF-1 alpha is an 8.0 kDa protein containing 68 amino acid residues.

Activity
rHu SDF-1 alpha is fully biologically active when compared to a standard. The activity of rHu SDF-1 alpha was determined by its ability to chemoattract human peripheral T-cells activated with PHA and IL-2. Significant activity is found using a concentration ranging between 20.0-80.0 ng/ml.

Less than 1 EU/μg.
Formulation
Lyophilized from a sterile, concentrated (1 mg/ml) protein solution with no additives.
Reconstitution
Please centrifuge product briefly before opening vial. The lyophilized protein should be reconstituted in sterile, ultra-pure water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/ml. This solution can then be diluted into other aqueous buffers and stored at -20°C for future use.
Storage & Stability
The lyophilized powder, though stable at room temperature for up to 3 weeks, is best stored desiccated at -20°C. Reconstituted SDF-1 alpha should be used immediately or stored long-term in undiluted working aliquots at -20°C. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0,1% HAS or BSA). Please avoid repeated freeze / thaw cycles.
