ActoFactor™ Recombinant Human Chemokine (C-C motif) ligand 8

  • Specification
Cat.No.
CSC-CTK0083
Description
Monocyte chemotactic protein-2 (MCP-2) is a member of the b (CC) family of chemokines. It is produced by fibroblasts, peripheral blood mononuclear cells, luteal cells, and MG63 osteosarcoma cells. MCP-2 is a chemoattractant for monocytes, NK cells, T cells, eosinophils and basophils. Human MCP-2 cDNA encodes a 77 amino acid residue protein and it has an apparent molecular mass of 9 kDa.
Species
Human
Product Overview
Human CCL8 expressed in E.coli
Sequence
A DNA sequence encoding the mature human MCP-2 protein was expressed in E. coli.
Size
CAT# CSC-CTK0083-10 (10 μg); CAT# CSC-CTK0083-50 (50 μg)
Expression System
E.coli
Purity
Greater than 97% as determined by SDS-PAGE and visualized by silver stain
Activity
Activity was determined by ability to chemoattract mouse BaF/3 cells transfected with human CCR5 and the ability to chemoattract THP-1 cells. The ED50 for these effects were typically 0.03 - 0.12 mg/mL and 0.03 - 0.1 mg/mL, respectively.
Endotoxin Level
Endotoxin level less than 0.1 ng per 1 mg of the cytokine as determined by the LAL method.
Formulation
Lyophilized from a sterile solution in PBS containing 50 mg of bovine serum albumin per 1mg of cytokine.
Reconstitution
It is recommended that sterile PBS containing at least 0.1% human serum albumin or bovine serum albumin be added to the vial to prepare a stock solution of no less than 10 mg/mL of the cytokine.
Storage & Stability
Lyophilized samples are stable for greater than six months at -20°C to -70°C. Reconstituted human MCP-2/CCL8 can be stored under sterile conditions at 2°to 4°C for one month or at -20°C to -70°C for three months without detectable loss of activity. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
