ActoFactor™ Recombinant Human CD4 molecule (203-317 aa variant)

  • Specification
Cat.No.
CSC-CTK0123
Description
CD4, a single chain transmembrane glycoprotein, is found on a T cell subset (helper/inducer) representing 45% of peripheral blood lymphocytes. It is also present on 80% of thymocytes and at a lower level on monocytes. It is involved in recognition of antigen presented along with MHC class II by APCs. It serves as receptor for HIV. Antibody to CD4 recognizes T-helper cells required for recognition of class II antigens. It reacts with ~60% of peripheral blood E rosette-positive (E+) cells while showing negligible reactivity with E-cells, monocytes, granulocytes, EBV-transformed B cell lines, and mouse splenocytes. Recombinant human CD4 produced in E. coli contains amino acids 203-317 and is fused with a 4 kDa His-Tag.

Formulation
Sterile-filtered, white, lyophilized (freeze-dried) powder. The protein was lyophilized from a protein solution in 1X PBS, 0.1% SDS and 1 mM DTT.
Reconstitution
Please centrifuge product briefly before opening vial. The lyophilized protein should be reconstituted in sterile, ultra-pure water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/ml. This solution can then be diluted into other aqueous buffers and stored at -20°C for future use.
Storage & Stability
The lyophilized protein, though stable at room temperature for up to 3 weeks, is best stored desiccated at -20°C. Reconstituted protein should be used immediately or stored long-term in undiluted working aliquots at -20°C. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. Can be used for protein assay, antibody production and Western blotting.
