Description
Immortalized Rat Pituitary Gland Epithelial Cells (MMQ) are derived from the transplantable 7315a rat pituitary tumor; until establishment of the cell line, the 7315a pituitary tumor was serially transplanted in adult female Buffalo rats since the early 1960s; described as expressing prolactin and dopamine receptors; cells were reported to be responsive to somatostatin, estrogen, progesterone, and acetylcholin. The cells secrete prolactin and express functional dopamine receptors [U.S. Patent 5,510,260].
