Description
RPMI-1640 is a modification of McCoy's 5A medium that contains a higher concentration of inositol. The medium is commonly used with mammalian myeloma and hybridoma cells. This formulation does not contain phenol red or L-glutamine.
Comments:
Supplement with 2 mM L-glutamine prior to use. Modified to contain 10 mM HEPES, 1 mM sodium pyruvate, 4.5 g/L D-glucose, and 1.5 g/L sodium bicarbonate. Note: This reduced level of sodium bicarbonate is intended for use in a 5% CO2 in air environment. Additional sodium bicarbonate may be required for use in incubators containing higher percentages of CO2.

Quality Control
