Description

NH15-CA2 is a hybrid cell line formed by the fusion of N115-BU-8 (a bromodeoxyuridine-resistant mutant of N1E-115 and 108CC15 (itself a mouse neuroblastoma N18TG2 x rat glioma C6-BU-1 hybrid line). This hybrid-hybrid line contains both cholinergic and adrenergic enzyme activities.

Recommended Medium

DMEM + 2 mM glutamine + 10% Fetal Bovine Serum (FBS) HAT (0.1 mM hypoxanthine, 10 μM aminopterin and 16 μM thymidine) Cells can be cultured without HAT provided they were cultured inbetween in HT medium for 3-4 days

Liquid Nitrogen (-180 °C).

Storage and Shipping

Creative Bioarray ships frozen cells on dry ice. On receipt, immediately transfer frozen cells to liquid nitrogen (-180 °C) until ready for experimental use. Never can cryopreserved cells be kept at -20 °C.

Description: The hybrid cell line ND15 was derived after fusion of primary neonatal-rat dorsal-root-ganglion (DRG) neurons with N18Tg2, a mouse neuroblastoma (C1300)- derived azaguanine-resistant line. HAT-sensitive hybrids were selected and cloned by limiting dilution. The cells express all isoforms of N-CAM but no embryonic form. Thy 1.1 marker, P31 and PrPc can be detected as well as a weaker expression of F3 and Thy-3. When differentiated in serum free media an increased level of Thy-2 can be detected.
