Description
Immortalized Mouse Proximal Tubule KPT2 Cells are spontaneously immortal derived cells from murine kidney. It does not express high levels of the Ca2+-permeable non-selective cation channel, TRPV4, unlike the Immortalized Mouse Distal Tubule KDT3 Cells. However, expresses SGLT2, an electrogenic sodiumglucose transporter-2, which may have a role in gentamicin-induced toxicity. KPT2 cells may be used to assess the effects of the presence of SGLT2 and the absence of TRPV4 has on aminoglycosides uptakein vitro.Additionally, these cells are the wild type to the Stable TRPV4 Expressing KPT2 Cell Line.
