Senior Program Manager, R&D
As the leader of the core team, you will be accountable for all project-related activities, from concept to closure, to ensure that the team follows the best practices of product development/program management, meets design control requirements, and delivers products within budget.
Responsibilities
- Take ownership and drive projects from inception to commercialization
- Ensure cross-functional team alignment to deliver new and customer-specific products with urgency
- Lead cross-functional teams to formulate detailed project plans (scope, schedule, budget, resource, risk analysis, etc.)
- Facilitate well-planned project meetings with an agenda focused on actions, decisions and deliverables
- Capture, prioritize, track and drive closure on all project-related action items and issues
- Present options, suggestions and trade-offs to resolve obstacles and acquire project success
- Facilitate conversations to translate “voice of the customer” into customer requirements and product requirements
- Establish, maintain and report on project scope, schedule, risks and finances to various levels within the organization
- Prepare teams for phase gate reviews, submit deliverables to the senior management/product approval committee
- Embrace corporate practical process improvement culture to minimize the need for retracing steps and rework
- Lead the implementation of new processes or tools to improve efficiency
- Drive external collaboration projects
Requirements
- Ph.D. in the field of biochemistry, chemical engineering, biotechnology, biology or chemistry
- Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) are preferred
- 8+ years of project management experience in new product development, 5+ years leading cross-functional teams
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with ability to effectively interact with diverse audiences within the organization
- Superior organization and planning skills with ability to build consensus among diverse teams
- Proven ability to effectively deal with conflict in a team environment
- Exceptional analytical, quantitative, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
