ZNF217 Amplification Probe

  • Specification
Cat.No.
FONC-117
Description
The Zinc Finger protein 217 gene (ZNF217) functions as a transcription repressor for a variety of genes. It is a strong oncogene candidate which drives the 20q13.2 amplification in breast cancer, ovarian cancer and other tumours and is associated with aggressive tumour behaviour. It has been shown that the silencing of ZNF217 inhibits ovarian cancer cell growth and the invasive ability in cancer cell lines.
The ZNF217 gene is a candidate oncogene suggested to play a key role during neoplastic transformation. ZNF217 is located at 20q13, a region that is frequently amplified in a variety of tumor types.1-6 Amplification of ZNF217 in breast cancer is associated with aggressive tumor behaviour.
