Subclone of ACH1P; ACH1P was established by somatic hybridization of primary male trophoblast cells and the HGPRT-defective choriocarcinoma cell line AC1-1 which was originally derived from cell line JEG-3; in contrast to the respective sister cell lines, AC-1M59 was described as expressing ERK5, cytokeratin I, TNF-R2, VEGFR-2 and IL-2

Are hybridoma cells immortal?

The resultant fusion product (hybridomas) are thus antibody-secreting and immortal. Unfused myeloma cells die as they cannot survive in the HAT medium, and unfused B cells die as they are not immortal.
