ActoFactor™ Recombinant Human Fibroblast growth factor 8 (androgen-induced) (HEK)
- Specification
Cat.No.
CSC-CTK0146
Description
Recombinant Human Fibroblast Growth Factor-8 (rHu FGF-8), also known as Androgen-induced growth factor (AIGF), is a heparin binding growth factor, which stimulates the proliferation and activation of cells that express FGF receptors. Recombinant human FGF-8 produced in HEK cells is a glycosylated monomer, having a molecular weight range of 30-45 kDa due to glycosylation. It has been purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.
Species

Product Overview
Human FGF8 expressed in HEK cells
Molecular Mass
N/A
Size
CAT# CSC-CTK0146-10 (10 μg); CAT# CSC-CTK0146-50 (50 μg)
Expression System
HEK cells
Purity
Greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE analysis.
Activity
rHu FGF-8 is fully biologically active when compared to a standard. The specific activity was determined by the dose-dependent stimulation of the proliferation of the Balb/3T3 cell line and is typically 15-60 ng/ml.
Endotoxin Level
Less than 1 EU/μg.
Formulation
Sterile-filtered, white, lyophilized (freeze-dried)powder. Lyophilized from a concentrated protein solution (1 mg/ml) in 1xPBS.
Reconstitution
Please centrifuge product before opening vial. The lyophilized FGF-8 should be reconstituted in 5mM Tris, pH 8.0 to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/ml. This solution can then be diluted into other aqueous buffers and stored at -20°C for future use.
Storage & Stability
The lyophilized protein, though stable at room temperature, is best stored dessicated at -20°C. Reconstituted rHu FGF-8 should be used immediately or stored in working aliquots at -20°C. For long term storage, it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA). Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.
