ActoFactor™ Recombinant Human Fibroblast growth factor receptor 3
- Specification
Cat.No.
CSC-CTK0165
Description
Fibroblast Growth Factors (FGFs) comprise a family of at least eighteen structurally realted proteins that are involved in a multitude of physiological and pathological cellular processes, including cell growth, differentation, angiogenesis, wound healing and tumorgenesis. The biological activities of the FGFs are mediated by a family if type I transmembrane tyrosine kinases which undergo dimerization and autophosphorylation after ligand binding. Four distinct genes encoding closely related FGF receptors, FGFR-1 to -4 are known. Multiple forms of FGFR-1 to -3 are generated by alternative splicing of the mRNAs. Recombinant human soluble FGFR-1a (IIIc) was fused via a Xa cleavage site with the Fc part of human IgG1. Recombinant human soluble FGFR-3a (IIIc) was fused via a Xa cleavage site with the Fc part of human IgG1. Human recombinant soluble FGFR-3a (IIIc)/Fc is a disulfide-linked heterodimeric protein. The reduced form of human FGF-R1a (IIIc)/Fc is a monomer with a calculated molecular mass of approximately 66 kDa. As a result of glycosylation, the recombinant protein has a mass of 90-95 kDa.
Species
Human
Product Overview
Human FGFR3 expressed in E.coli
Molecular Mass
190 kDa
Size
CAT# CSC-CTK0165-10 (10 μg); CAT# CSC-CTK0165-50 (50 μg)
Expression System
E.coli
Purity
Greater than 90% as determined by SDS-PAGE analysis.
Activity
Determined by its ability to inhibit human FGF acidic-dependent proliferation on R1 cells. The ED50 for this effect is typically at 15-30 ng/ml.
Endotoxin Level
Less than 1 EU/μg.
Formulation
Lyophilized from a sterile-filtered solution with no additives.
Reconstitution
Please centrifuge product briefly before opening vial. The lyophilized protein should be reconstituted in sterile, ultra-pure water or PBS to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/ml. This solution can then be diluted into other aqueous buffers and stored at -20°C for future use.
Storage & Stability
The lyophilized protein, though stable at room temperature for up to 3 weeks, is best stored desiccated at -20°C. Reconstituted rHu sFGFR-3 should be used immediately or stored long-term in undiluted working aliquots at -20°C. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
